KYC Dossier

KYC dossier for banking, structure review and international wealth organisation.

A good KYC dossier explains not only who a person is, but why a structure exists, where wealth was created, which funds move and who controls the structure economically. It connects tax documents, corporate records, bank requirements and the real structure.

Building blocks

Identity

Persons

Passport, address, tax residence, roles, relationship between parties and beneficial owners.

Organisation chart

Structure

Companies, foundations, trusts, participations, ownership percentages, control rights and decision routes.

Wealth creation

Source of Wealth

Economic creation of overall wealth through business, sale proceeds, dividends, salary, inheritance, investments or other sources.

Funds origin

Source of Funds

Specific origin of a payment, deposit, investment, loan, contribution or account opening.

Typical evidence

  • Register extracts, articles, constitutional documents, foundation or trust records.
  • Financial statements, tax filings, tax assessments, valuation documents and contracts.
  • Purchase agreements, dividend resolutions, loan agreements, inheritance documents, gift agreements or bank statements.
  • Wallet and exchange histories for digital assets.
  • Short description of structure purpose, expected funds flow and intended banking use.

What the dossier should achieve

  • The bank should understand structure, persons, assets and funds flow without mandate details.
  • The tax description and economic description should not contradict each other.
  • Follow-up questions should be reduced and focused on genuinely open points.
  • The dossier should remain updateable when persons, assets, bank relationship or structure change.

Limits

  • A KYC dossier does not replace the bank's decision.
  • It does not guarantee account opening or acceptance by a bank.
  • Sensitive documents are not collected unnecessarily; scope and detail depend on purpose and counterparty.
  • Reserved legal and tax questions are reviewed by admitted professionals.
